This partner has been helping some of the most vulnerable men, women and children in the world for over 100 years. Before there was a cure for leprosy this ministry established a loving and safe environment for people who were outcasts of their society due to their leprosy. Here, they received medical treatment, food lodging and most of all a loving Christian atmosphere and community that became their family. They were accepted unconditionally and loved completely. Today, they still minister to the needs of people who suffer from leprosy.

Over 40 years ago, AIDS became a worldwide fear that affected every level of society. HIV/AIDS also caused many of the same issues and stigma that leprosy did. Victims were the outcasts of society due to a sickness in their body. Early on people thought that only people who had been involved in questionable behavior were infected with HIV/AIDS, but research has shown that HIV/AIDS affects many other people as well: newborn babies, innocent spouses and others.

This ministry opened its doors to HIV/AIDS victims over 25 years ago. A number of orphans whose parents both died of AIDS have a place to call home, a loving place where they experience the love of Jesus and acceptance from a loving community where they are seen as a perfect creation made in the image of God.

I sense the love of God and His presence as I walk through this ministry compound. It’s a place where the heart of God dwells in a special way, in the presence of some the most vulnerable and needy people of the world. God is meeting their needs, and the sacrificial partners are continuing to provide care for them as they have done for over 100 years.

It has been our privilege to partner with them as they serve the lepers and orphans, and many others through this ministry.
